Jihan’s deep connection with maasai community led her to found Purko Women Empowerment, a Community-Based Organization (CBO) aimed at supporting the women of Purko village. Recognizing the challenges faced by young mothers, women with little education, and those limited by traditional gender roles, Jihan took action to create a sustainable support system for these women through entrepreneurship training, mentorship, and skill development.
Founded in 2024, Purko Women Empowerment seeks to break the cycle of poverty and dependence by providing women with the tools they need to build independent, sustainable businesses. Through this initiative, women are equipped with business management skills, financial literacy, and access to networks that help them succeed. The CBO not only promotes economic empowerment but also social change by challenging stereotypes and advocating for gender equality in rural communities.
Purko Women Empowerment is a symbol of hope and resilience, as it offers a platform for women to overcome barriers and reach their full potential. Jihan believes that when women are empowered, entire communities benefit, creating a ripple effect of positive change that transcends generations.
